It is essential to ensure we share a common understanding: without a significant shift towards regenerative investments aimed at supporting the livelihoods of over 8 billion individuals, we risk entering a trajectory of irreversible and catastrophic outcomes within a few decades or much sooner. The current approach, if maintained, will not suffice to address the pressing challenges we face.

The primary aim of this initiative is to identify and present viable strategies for substantially increasing investments that can help mitigate the overshoot of planetary boundaries currently observed, while degrowing at the same time. By focusing on these solutions, we can work towards reversing the detrimental trends that threaten our environment and society.

Additionally, this program seeks to highlight the inherent flaws within the existing global financial system, which has contributed to a short-term investment mentality, resulting in the "Great Acceleration." This mindset has exacerbated the overshoot of planetary boundaries over the past two centuries. By addressing these critical issues and proposing effective solutions, we can work towards stabilizing the financial system for a more sustainable future.
